The international festival “Jazz Manor” was first held not in the “Arkhangelskoye” estate, but in the capital – on the territory of the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve.
Sharon Kovaks flew to Moscow from Holland, as she herself put it, in search of local sounds. But I realized that at the festival she is unlikely to hear a balalaika or harmonica. The extravagant singer presented her hits and summer positive to the Russian public. She shared: “Today I mainly have a dance program. It’s so sunny now, and this is my first time here, I want people to dance and enjoy. ”
But in general, the singer Kovaks began as the author of dark music, in an interview she said that the first songs were born from inner pain. Now, gradually finding happiness, she learns to write in a new state. The song My love was partially recorded in Cuba and, in its rhythm, is similar to the Cuban “Habanera” dance. In 2014, the singer won the European charts with this single. She went on a tour, a well-known model agency signed a contract with her, a girl with an unusual appearance was photogenic, and the fashion world had long been in an active search for alternative beauty. And now, after the success of the two albums, Sharon Kovaks wants to stop for a while. She explained: “Every album is like a journey. I had two such journeys. And now, at a certain distance from them, I want to invent something new. Now I would like to be away from the mainstream. ” Therefore, more jazz, not only in vocals, but also in music, she writes at the intersection of genres: jazz, soul, indie, electronic music. And from each journey adds new sounds. As for the jazz classics, masters perform on a special stage, which traditionally carries the name “Aristocrat”.
Nino Katamadze was especially waited here. Despite the rain, the concert played, as always, with warmth to the public and a desire to solve even global problems with the help of love. The fact that the audience here is special has been known for a long time. People maintain festival traditions, for example, separate garbage collection. Far from all open-air shows after the dismantling of the scenes remains clear, this was particularly noted by musicians from America and Europe. Jazz Manor is not limited to Moscow, the festival will be held in St. Petersburg in July, and in September the musicians will gather in Sochi.
