On September 24, a gala concert “Belcanto World” will be held on the Big Stage of Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre (NOVAT). Fragments from opera masterpieces by Gioacchino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti and Vincenzo Bellini will be performed by Italian Belcanto master Alessandro Luciano, the brilliant Vasilisa Berzhanskaya, soloists of the Novosibirsk Opera and the NOVAT Symphony Orchestra conducted by conductor Dmitry Yurovsky.

Today in Russia, and in the world, a large program dedicated exclusively to Belcanto with the participation of such masters as Alessandro Luciano and Vasilisa Berzhanskaya is an event. It is a great happiness that we can present this program on the Big Stage of our theater.
Belcanto is a special repertoire. Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti – this is the basis from which the operas of Verdi, Puccini and many others grew. This concert should be very interesting to true fans of opera art from other Russian regions and even from abroad. Of course, this will be a very effective program, since Belcanto – a kind of vocal acrobatics and vocalists should be real stunts, and titanic work is behind the apparent ease of this style. There are very few such vocalists in the world, and our soloists with excellent voices and good technique can learn a lot by performing on the same stage with them. Belcanto from the masters – it’s worth hearing. ”
Alessandro Luciano: “Belcanto requires from the artist not only excellent data, technical preparedness and musicality. All the great composers – Mozart, Rossini, composers of today – create their compositions for artists who can read more than what is written in the score. And this is the main principle of Belcanto – the vocalist should not only accurately reproduce what was written by the composer, but also bring something of his own. ”
