Artists from Siberia will be presented to the Moscow public by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s ballets “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty”

The Novosibirsk Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet (NOVAT), after a nearly 40-year hiatus, will tour the historical stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia (Bolshoi Theater). During performances in the capital, which will be held from July 29 to August 10, the famous band from Siberia will show the ballets of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky “Swan Lake” and “Sleeping Beauty”.

“For almost 40 years, our ballet troupe did not perform on the Bolshoi’s Historic Stage,” said Kekhman. “To present the NOVAT to the Moscow public in the Year of the Theater is a special honor and responsibility. We chose two of the most spectacular performances that tell you what NOVAT today.

Kekhman recalled that the Novosibirsk Academic Opera and Ballet Theater is called the same age as the Victory – it opened on May 12, 1945. And the first tour on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater took place in 1955. “In Moscow they talk a lot about us, but I’m sure that it’s much better to see everything with their own eyes,” the agency’s source said. According to him, the performances included in the tour program will present two different approaches to preserving the classical heritage.
