The Yekaterinburg Opera and Ballet Theater (Ural Opera Ballet) will open the new 108th theatrical season on September 8 with the premiere of Rigoletto opera Giuseppe Verdi, staged by the Golden Mask award winner Alexei Frandetti, theater spokeswoman Ekaterina Ruzheva told TASS on Wednesday.

The director of the performance is Alexei Frandetti and Massimiliano Bullo, the coach of the famous Italian theater La Scala, will prepare the artists to the staging, “she said.
According to her, the coach “La Scala” has already started giving vocal lessons to operatic soloists, and in August will join the staging process. Bullo arrived in Yekaterinburg at the invitation of the incoming chief conductor Konstantin Chudovsky, who had previously headed the Municipal Theater of Santiago in Chile for seven years. The opera “Rigoletto” will be his first production in the Urals.
“In the coming years, the theater is going to stage several classical Italian operas, therefore, it plans to invite Massimiliano Bullo in the future,” Ruzheva said.
