In Kazan, on June 20 and 21, performances of the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble will be held. The concert will take place in the Tatar State Opera and Ballet Theater named after Musa Jalil.

In total, the program will include performances in ten directions, including the Russian dance “Summer”, the Greek dance suite “Sirtaki”, the choreographic painting “Sunday” and a fragment of the naval suite “Day on the Ship” – “Yablochko”.

Under the guidance of tireless Elena Scherbakova (artistic director of the ensemble), the glorified group in 2018 performed new productions, conducted triumphant tours in many countries from Italy to Mongolia.

The professional folk dance ensemble was created in 1937. Igor Moiseev was able to embody a unique choreographic aesthetics. He combined the foundations of classical ballet with folk dance, elevating it to the rank of professional art. The repertoire of the ensemble includes more than 200 dances of the peoples of the world.
