The international cultural project “Russian Seasons”, named in memory of the legendary tour of the ballet troupe Sergei Dyagilev, first held in 2017 in Japan and gathered more than 3.5 million viewers in forty-two cities in the country. In 2018, the festival was hosted by Italy. In the “Russian Seasons” in 2019, which brought together more than four hundred events in 80 cities of Germany, there are exhibitions from the collections of the largest Russian museums, dramatic performances, concerts of symphonic music, ballet performances, film premieres, performances by leading folk ensembles, circus and art festivals. Among the regular participants of the “Russian Seasons” are the orchestras conducted by Valery Gergiev and Yuri Bashmet, the St. Petersburg ballet by Boris Eifman, the stage masterpieces of the Mariinsky and Alexandrinsky theaters.

From 6 to 9 July, the Mariinsky Theater will present a three-day concert program in Baden-Baden. Performances will be held at one of the most famous world venues – in the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden concert hall in Germany (Baden-Baden).
On July 6, a piano concerto by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, accompanied by the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev and one of the most significant works by Richard Wagner, Siegfried Mourning March for the Death of the Gods, will be performed.
Netherlands opera singer Eva-Maria Westbrook (soprano) will sing “The Last Aria of Brunhilda”. The public and the last symphony of Tchaikovsky – Symphony N 6 in B minor, Op. 74 “Pathetic.”
On July 7, the musicians will play the symphonic poem “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun” Debussy, which at one time became the first demonstration of impressionism in music. Concerto N 2 for violin and orchestra in G minor, op. 63 Sergei Prokofiev and Symphony N 7 in C major, op. 60 “Leningrad” Dmitri Shostakovich.
On July 9, in the Festspielhaus Hall, the opera Simon Boccanegra will be performed by the stars of the world academic scene: Placido Domingo starring Simon Boccanegra, Ferruccio Furlanetto as Jacopo Fiesco, and Roman Burdenko as Paolo Albani and Tatyana Serzhan as Maria Bockanegra.
The world premiere of the opera was held in 1857 in Venice, St. Petersburg – in 2016 at the Mariinsky Theater. The performance was prepared by the Mariinsky Theater together with the Italian Theater La Fenice and the Theater Carlo Felice.
