The twenty-eighth international art festival “Slavic Bazaar” started in Vitebsk. We have prepared for you the latest news of this event, which takes place in 2019 in the first half of July.
From the eighth to the seventeenth of July, 2019, the XVII International Children’s Music Competition “Slavic Bazaar-2019” is held in Vitebsk. As part of this festival of arts, dance ensembles such as Lyavonikha, Zorka and Egoza, ballroom dance ensemble Mosaic, the pop song studio Forum and the sensational show ballet will be on the stage.
For the first time, the State Ballet on Ice of St. Petersburg arrived at the festival. There are a lot of ice shows in the world. But classical ice ballet is a unique phenomenon. And such a team as our guests from St. Petersburg is the only one. Another curious detail. All the performances of this unusual troupe are designed for a theatrical scene. Spectators sometimes do not even believe that it is covered with real ice. All the scenery, costumes, movements of the dancers, as in a real theater. Even the drawing of the dance, although presented in the author’s edition by the artistic director Konstantin Rassadin, is almost exactly the same as classical ballet fuetés and arabesques. And at the “Slavonic Bazaar” artists perform on the ice platform of the Vitebsk Sports Palace. Yesterday, viewers have already seen Swan Lake to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Today, at 12.00 and 16.00, you will be able to watch Cinderella to the music of Sergei Prokofiev.
The invitation to Vitebsk was perceived by the ballet as a special honor. The director of Slavonic Bazaar, Gleb Lapitsky, also considers the arrival of the ice troupe from St. Petersburg to be a serious milestone in the life of the festival:
– At this stage, I consider one of the most important missions of the festival development not only to expand the genre diversity, but also to increase the number of sites. We can not close only at the Summer Amphitheater, which during the “Slavic Bazaar” and so works around the clock. As for the artists from St. Petersburg, I think we will love them.
