The Osipov Orchestra of Folk Instruments celebrates its centenary. July 15, 1919 was the first performance of the group on the concert stage. Constantly expanding the repertoire, today the orchestra plays music of various genres and directions.

For the first time, Galina Sazonova heard the Osipova orchestra as a child. Since then, she has dreamed of playing it. She came to the team in the late 60s, then Osipov mostly became men. The actress has become a rare exception. Today she is the accompanist of the orchestra – the right hand of the artistic director. For half a century, the service in the team traveled the whole world with tours.

“My first trip abroad was, I have not even worked for a year in the orchestra. We went to the States for 3 months. Well then it’s 69 year. Then rarely was anyone there. Circus, perhaps, “Birch” and the ensemble of Moses. We were met very well. All the concerts were just a bang, and everyone was standing by us. Carnegie Hall is especially memorable. Today there are 75 people in the orchestra. Play on rare folk instruments.

Vladimir Andropov has led the orchestra for the last 10 years. Over the years, Glier, Gauk, Golovanov stood up for the orchestra console.
