From August 13 to 18, 2019, the XXIII International Festival of Wind Orchestras “Silver Pipes of the Volga Region” will be held in Syzran. Founders and organizers of the Festival: Administration of the Syzran urban district, Culture Department of the Administration of Syzran and the International Federation of Euro-Orchestria.
This year, the festival beloved by residents and visitors of the city is held as part of the cultural project of the Cultural Heart of Russia. Creative groups from France, Spain and Russia will take part in the festival. Among the Russian participants: brass bands and instrumental ensembles from Moscow, Orenburg, Samara and Syzran. Within the framework of the Brass Band Festival, a summer creative school will be held with the participation of professional and young artists of the Children’s Art School and Children’s Art School in Syzran.
Within the framework of the Festival, for the third time, the All-Russian competition of children and youth brass bands and ensembles “Silver Pipes of the Volga Region” named after V.M.Khalilov will be held. The competition is held in memory of the outstanding Russian conductor, composer, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Head of the Military Orchestra Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and art director of the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army named after A.V. Alexandrov, Lieutenant General Valery Mikhailovich Khalilov, who made a significant contribution to the development of the genre of brass music in the Russian Federation. The competition is designed to help support and popularize the genre of brass music in a wide audience, the artistic education of children and youth and the further development of Russian culture.
