On August 22, at the French resort of Deauville, the Festival of Russian Art opens for the second time, the artistic director of which is the People’s Artist of Russia, winner of the Oscar-winning ballet Sergey Filin.

The theme of this year’s show is “The Music Box”. For three days, the public will get acquainted with ballet productions to the music of classics and contemporary composers – Ilya Demutsky, Yuri Krasavin, Rodion Shchedrin and Leonid Desyatnikov.

Ballet dancers from leading Russian theaters will appear on the stage. Bolshoi Premier Artem Ovcharenko will present the author’s program, which includes new productions of modern choreographers. And the prima of the Russian and American ballet Maria Kochetkova and the graduate of the Royal Danish Ballet Sebastian Kloborg will perform excerpts from classical ballets and original productions.

In addition to ballet, an international audience will enjoy opera. Soloist of the Bolshoi Theater Daria Davydova will present a modern reading of the works of Borodin, Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov.
