Moscow round of the Mikael Tariverdiev Organ Competition
On August 29, the 11th Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition starts in Moscow. This year 15 performers from Russia, Belarus, Poland, Croatia, Japan, and Korea were selected to participate in the 1st round.

The jury of the competition in Moscow is headed by a professor at the organ of the Latvian Academy of Music, an organist of the Lutheran Church of Jesus in Riga, a concert organist Vita Kalnciema. The jury also included Mikhail Arkadyev (Honored Artist of Russia, composer, conductor, pianist), Alexey Panov (professor, head of the department of organ of St. Petersburg State University), Lyubov Shishkhanova (professor of organ, organist of the Yaroslavl Philharmonic, concert organist), James Higdon (professor , concert organist). In the Prokofievsky Hall of the Museum, the jury of the Moscow tour will give a joint concert.

All participants in the 2nd round of the competition will go to Kaliningrad. Some of them will become the owner of the main prize of the competition – the amber angel. The next stage of the show will take place on September 3 – 9 at the Cathedral on Kant Island. The closing ceremony will take place there.

This year, the Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition celebrates its 20th anniversary. For two decades, the look is on the musical map of Russia and the world. From his first steps, it strives for publicity and the creation of new formats of organ art. Every year it is accompanied by the Organ + festival.
