On September 7 and 8, a grandiose festive program awaits guests on Tverskaya Street! In honor of Moscow’s 872th birthday, almost 100 performances will take place at four venues, each of which is dedicated to key symbols and eras in the history of VDNH, about 20 of which were staged specifically for the City Day.
Unique productions in honor of the 80th anniversary of the country’s main exhibition were prepared by the Production Center of the People’s Artist of Russia Andris Liepa, the Moscow Drama Theater on Malaya Bronnaya, the Inclusion Center of the Co-Union Foundation. As part of the Golden Mask project in the city, Tverskaya Street will present the best performances of street theaters in Russia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands.
The concert “Opening of the All-Union Exhibition of Artists of 1954” will be decorated with opera masterpieces, folk songs and songs of the Soviet era, performed by famous opera soloists: Anastasia Kikot – soloist of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theater and the Bolshoi Theater, Boris Rudak – soloist of the Perm Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. P.I. Tchaikovsky and the permanent guest soloist of the Bolshoi Theater, Anna Nedorezova – soloist of the Antonín Dvořák Theater (Czech Republic), Vladimir Celebrovsky, soloist of the St. Petersburg Opera and guest soloist of the Kazan Opera and Ballet Theater named after M. Jalil. And in the special program “Concert Opening of the All-Union Exhibition of Artists of 1954”, also dedicated to the musical history of the Exhibition, Vladimir Yatskevich will lead the choir.
For the same venue, the Production Center of the People’s Artist of Russia Andris Liepa prepared the program “Dances of the Nations of the World”, because VDNH was originally created as a center of attraction for guests from all over the world. Music, choreography, national costumes will take the audience on a fabulous journey to different countries. The production will be attended by ballet dancers of the largest musical theaters of the capital: the Bolshoi, Moscow Academic Musical Theater. Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko, the Kremlin Ballet Theater and others. The troupe of the Imperial Russian Ballet Theater will present a production of Carmen Suite, where the characters are transformed into symbols of Love, Passion, Rock, Death, Will and Fate. By the way, this year the theater celebrated its 25th anniversary and toured almost the whole world with tours. Leading soloist of the Hamburg Opera House Alexei Bogdanchikov and soloist of the Bolshoi Theater and the New Opera Ekaterina Petrova will perform as part of another special project prepared for the City Day.
