The tour of the Imperial Russian Ballet Theater opens on Friday in St. Petersburg, where artists from Moscow will conduct three donations of their world tour dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the troupe. On the first evening, one-act ballets by Shekheradaz by Mikhail Fokin and Bolero by Nikolai Androsov will be shown on the stage of the Lensovet Culture Palace.

“Moscow and St. Petersburg are united by a love for classical dance. And therefore we open the performances with“ Scheherazade ”, from which it all began, and with“ Bolero ”, which we consider to be our calling card,” said artistic director of the company Gediminas Taranda, Honored Artist of Russia press conference at the St. Petersburg press center TASS.

He recalled with gratitude how much he had at the stage of the formation of the troupe creative contacts with the stars of St. Petersburg ballet who performed in their performances. Altynai Asylmuratova, Zhanna Ayupova, Farukh Ruzimatov, Diana Vishneva collaborated with the troupe. Among them was the national artist of Russia Yulia Makhalina who came to the press conference, celebrating her anniversary. As Taranda stated, the evening of June 23 will be dedicated to this date during the tour.

Two other Petersburgers, Ilya Kuznetsov and Denis Matvienko, will also take part in the Moscow team tour, who admitted that his interaction with Gediminas at one time influenced his creative development as a dancer.
