On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the common victory of Mongolia and the USSR in battles on the Khalkhin-Gol River (1939), the collective of the State Academic Folk Dance Ensemble named after Igor Moiseev will give a series of concerts in Ulan Bator on September 3 and 4. The tour will take place at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia.

One of the oldest choreographic ensembles in Russia, the holder of the UNESCO medal “Five Continents” and the status of a particularly valuable object of cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia, will perform at the Central Palace of Culture on September 3 and 4.

The artists will present the Mongolian audience with a real dance holiday. The best numbers in Igor Moiseyev’s choreography, shown on the leading stages of the planet and becoming world classics, will be included in the recital program.

The team will perform the Russian dance “Summer”, the suite of Greek dances “Sirtaki”, the Bashkir dance “Seven Beauties”, the old city square dance from the dance cycle “Pictures of the Past”, a fragment of the naval suite “Day on the Ship” – “Bullseye”, the Sicilian tarantella, Venezuelan “Horopo” dance, “Gaucho” dance of Argentine shepherds, Nanai folk game “Fight of two kids” and Kalmyk dance.

In addition, the team will acquaint the public with the iconic production of Polovtsian Dances, a ballet fragment of the opera Prince Igor to the music of Russian composer Alexander Borodin. The ensemble will perform in Mongolia as a whole – in the amount of 80 people. The organizer of the concerts is Federal State Budget-Funded Institution “Rosconcert”.
